Medicare Rebates
Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
You may be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate if you or your child are experiencing mental health difficulties. To be eligible for Medicare rebates, you require a referral from your GP or psychiatrist. This program enables clients to receive a Medicare rebate for up to 5 sessions over a calendar year.

Insurance Claims
Private health Insurance
Many private health insurance policies with ‘extras’ cover offer rebates for psychology services when the Medicare rebate is not claimed. No referral is required, but rebate amounts vary based on your level of cover. As each insurer has different requirements, we recommend checking directly with your health fund to confirm your eligibility and rebate details.
Insurance Claims
We provide psychological support for individuals recovering from incidents covered by insurance (e.g., car accidents). If you are eligible for psychological treatment under an insurance claim, your sessions may be funded. Approval from your insurer is required, and we can assist with the necessary documentation. NDIS Early Intervention
NDIS Early Intervention is a specific stream within the NDIS designed to support children with disabilities or developmental delays as early as possible. The goal is to provide early support to reduce the long-term impact of a disability and improve development, independence, and overall well-being. Early intervention is often focused on providing therapies, assistive technology, and family support to enhance long-term outcomes.
Early intervention psychology services support children with developmental, emotional, and behavioural challenges under the NDIS. We provide assessments, parenting support, and therapy to enhance such things as emotional regulation, social skills, and overall well-being.

To access early intervention funding, families can apply through the local NDIS early intervention partner, Lifestart, who will help families navigate the application, process access early intervention support, and connect with appropriate services. Families will need to provide evidence of their child’s needs from healthcare professionals. Once approved, funding can be used for therapy and support services tailored to the child's development. Further information is available from Disability Services for Children & Young People | Lifestart.
